Oh Lord of
light, life and love, we come before you humbled. In prayer we come together to
give you thanks and praise for all that we have, for all that we are, and for
all that we want to be – good stewards of your church and preaching, your
humble sons and daughters, loving brothers and sisters.
We come
before you humbled as we pray for the people here in Hong Kong and around the
world who are in their most trying times and in need the most of your guidance,
presence and love.
For the
world, we pray for the people in the American West who have been struck by
wildfires that have brought down their homes and properties. Please be with
them as they rebuild their homes, their lives, their communities.
For the
people of Bangladesh
whose loved ones and homes have been lost to the heavy rains and floods that
have struck them of late. Lord, may you give them strength and heal their
ailing hearts and spirits with your love.
For the
people of Hong Kong as we remember this day as
a memorial day for all of us. May the rule of law, freedom of speech, respect
of human rights, democracy be preserved, upheld and protected at all times.
We pray for
our congregation. We pray for the many efforts and ministries of our church.
The KUC Space, the children and youth, the women of our church, the blessed
minority, those we support and help, our pastors and leaders, our fathers and mothers, our brothers and
sisters.
Let us offer
a moment of silence. (20 seconds)
We pray for
peace. We pray for healing. We pray for resolve. We pray for justice. We pray
for others as we pray for ourselves. We offer these moments of silence with all
our love, humility and awe of you. This we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
