Prayer of Intercession

16 July 2023

Prepared by Journalise Badon

Seventh Sunday After Pentecost

Let us prepare our minds and hearts as we pray.

Almighty God, despite the brokenness of this world, may we continue to strive to do what is good and make sure that Your Word will not return void without serving its purpose. Grant us the courage and strength to continue living a life that glorifies You. Help us, Lord, to take good care of the balance of Your creation and not abuse it for our self-keeping.

Merciful God, we have wandered away from You and squandered the gifts You gave us for self-gratification. Forgive us, Lord. During the times when we are blinded by worldly things, we thank You, Father, that You patiently wait for our return. You never turn Your back to us, even when we fail You again and again. Thank you, Lord, for reminding us of our identity in You whenever we are too ashamed of our wrongdoings.

God, our ultimate healer, we lift to You all people who are suffering from all kinds of sickness - may it be physical, mental, or emotional. May we choose to turn to You and trust that even in these challenging times, You are with us. May we see You, Lord, and feel Your presence in our lives. Help us believe that You will never leave us nor forsake us even if we can't see You working.

We especially remember our brothers and sisters here in KUC in need of medical attention. Touch them with Your healing hands, Lord, and comfort them whenever they feel down. Bless also the people that are taking care of them and those that are in care facilities.

God of knowledge and wisdom, we lift to You the children who don't have access to formal education because of poverty. May our government provide enough scholarships for them to study.

As the world celebrates graduation, we rejoice with the graduates as they come to the culmination of years of hard work and perseverance. Bless them as they face the world, bringing the knowledge they have learned through the years. May they use it to make a positive difference in our world, bringing glory and honor to You. We also remember the graduates' parents in prayer, especially those who worked hard to support their children's education despite financial constraints. We thank you, Lord, for this victory.

All these we pray, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

And now, let us join our voices as one as we say the Lord's prayer. Feel free to do so in your own native tongue.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
