Merciful God, we come
before you with a humble heart, lifting up the prayers to you, recognizing that
we all our different limitations. Lord, during the Lent season, would you
please help us to focus on you, so that we can see the world with your heart
and your eyes, together with your compassion.
Lord, we pray for
those places which are in war, especial Syria. The war has already brought
massive destruction to the country. Lord we pray for the citizens there, may
you supply them with water and food, instead of bombs and gunfire.
Lord we also pray for
the refugees who are forced to leave their own country and home, looking to
settle in a stranger’s place. May Lord you alone be their shelter, and lead
them to safety. May you also open the leader’s heart, allowing them to cross
their boarder, providing them food and shelter.
Lord, we pray for
Brazil, and some other countries which are affected by the Zika Virus. Lord we
might be far away from the virus and the fear. But we pray that your love and
peace would be with them. May you also grant wisdom to the government and
scientists, so they can control the virus.
Lord, we pray for the
churches all around the world, especially this Sunday for churches in Portugal,
Spain, Italy, Malta. We pray that the church would stand united, to stand up
for justice and bring love and peace to their own community.
Lord, we pray for Hong
Kong, we remember the missing booksellers, and we remember those who were persecuted
and arrested by the police because of political reason. May your justice be
shown in Hong Kong. Lord we pray for hope and faith which can go beyond fear.
Let us dare to hope and dream again.
We also lift up to You
Lord those in our community in need of prayer and healing. May You continue to
rest a hand of healing on each one of them.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
We might not know how
to pray, but Lord Jesus teaches us the Lord’s Prayer, may we all pray together
with our own language.
