Prayer of Intercession

7 December 2025

Prepared by Ramon Bultron

Sunday in Ordinary Time

Dear Sisters and brothers, together as one, let us pray and praise God!

Eternal God, you are our rock, redeemer and maker of heaven and earth, you rule over all the nations. As we think of your unfailing, eternal, enduring love, we look forward to the day when we will worship you in eternity. Your throne will be surrounded by people from every tribe, tongue and nation, all testifying that you have remained faithful. We will all see that you have kept every single promise you made. We will all see your goodness and grace. We will all be transformed by your glory.

Our Loving God, we humbly come before you and ask that you increase and strengthen our faith. Help us your children to trust in you more deeply and to have unwavering faith in your promises. Strengthen our belief in your power and love, and guide us to live a life that reflects our faith in you.

O Redeemer God, as we gather in prayer on this World Communion Sunday, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to fall afresh upon us. We pray for the holy spirit to awaken new hope in us and grant us the vision to see the coming of your kingdom. Help us to celebrate the glimpses of grace that you have given to each of us.

In celebrating the world communion Sunday, we pray dear God for the migrant workers, refugees, diaspora among your other children experiencing systematic and institutionalized discrimination including hatred and who been facing the daily challenges of recognition, acceptance, protection, safety and survival in this world full of conflicts.

Our Loving God, we grieve as we once again witness the escalation of violence all over the world. We pray for wisdom and restraint among your children especially world leaders and decision makers, that they would turn from the path of violence and move towards peace. We pray for those caught in the middle of the violence. Please keep them safe in the coming hours and days. We also pray that the cycle of violence would be broken and that your reign of justice, love and peace would come.

Loving God, as we experience extreme weather conditions in many parts of the world, we pray for your continued guidance as we face the ever worsening climate change of our time and may we learn to be more resilient amidst the challenges. In particular we pray for the people of Philippines, China including Hong Kong and other countries in the South and South East Asia, among others for their safety as they experienced the damages brought by recent environmental disasters.

Dearest God, we pray that the congregation of Kowloon Union Church continue to strengthen
its faith in order to serve you well and your children especially those who are in need and deprived
and that we all continue to be one and remain faithful to you.

Almighty God, we pray that our sisters and brothers who are physically ill or going through challenging times may be strengthened and recovered. Specifically, we pray for Kevin, Jeanette, Hend, Ng Kam Lee, Raymond, Joy, Rose, Doris, Mercy, Esther and Jen who are facing health challenges that require body strength restoration. Likewise, we continue to pray for our senior members and friends. May God heal and strengthen them. We also remember with deep sorrow and we pray for the soul of one of our dear sister, Dr. Muriel Montenegro who was called home to be with the creator after a time of illness.

In the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle, we pray for the Churches and people of all faiths in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Lord God, we come before you today humbly, acknowledging our need for you. We thank and praise you for your never-ending patience despite our many flaws and fumbles. Lord, we ask that you guide us as we seek to live out your will in our lives. Shine your light into the areas of our lives where we need to make changes and give us a desire to be more like you. We know your Word is a light unto our path, so help us to seek you out each day; to read Your Word for guidance and direction.

Lord, may your loving hand direct our steps as we go out into the world today. In Jesus' name, we ask these things,

Amen.

Prayer of Intercession

30 November 2025

Prepared by Robert Lam

Sunday in Ordinary Time

Lord:
We give you thanks for the start of Advent. A time of hope, reflection and preparation. Hope in the inheritance we have in Christ, as God’s children.  A reflection of your ever presence in our lives.  And a preparation for your glorious coming again, when all sorrows will cease.

We pray for Hong Kong.

We mourn for the loss of so many lives in the fire. We pray for those who are still missing or bodies yet to be identified.

We pray for those who have lost their family members in the fire, especially their elderly parents, and infants at home. We pray for the domestic helpers who have died in the fire, remembering that they may be the sole breadwinner to their family.

We pray for the healing process, physical, spiritual and emotional. May God Emmanuel be with them. May your ever presence comfort them. May you give them strength and purpose as they rebuild their lives, dealing with their bereavement and the many practical issues like where to live and how to deal with the additional financial burden.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We pray for the world, particularly the countries around us:

We pray for those suffering from the severe typhoons and floodings in many provinces in the Philippines, in central Vietnam and in Malaysia. And of the cyclone disaster in Sri Lanka. We remember the ongoing civil war and humanitarian crisis in Myanmar, of the many people who have been internally displaced and millions facing acute food insecurity.

In our ecumenical cycle of prayers, we remember the people and churches of all faith in Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore. We thank you for the general prosperity of these countries. We pray for harmony between people of different faiths and for the church to speak out about greed and abuse of natural resources.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We pray for KUC.

We pray for our Church. Guide the church as we continue to grow in faith to serve and to honor you.  Help us to care for the asylum seekers in our midst. Help us to always remember the marginalized, the weak and the poor. We pray that you would give strength to the LGBT community as they seek acceptance within the Body of Christ and within the community.

We pray for those in our midst facing health challenges. We remember Kevin, Jeanette, Hend, Kam Lee, Ray, Joy, Rose, Doris, Mercy Esther and Jen. Lord, we ask that you heal them and give them hope, peace and joy as they go through their daily lives. We remember our senior members, Rev Kwok, Mrs. Samuel, and the mothers of June Tang and Tong.

We pray all these in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ

Amen.
