Prayer of Intercession

22 March 2026

Prepared by Robert Lam

Sunday in Ordinary Time

Merciful and gracious Lord;

We remember the people and churches in Iran, for those who died in the recent conflict, including students and children. At this time of suffering and war,  we mourn for the dead and pray for your sustaining power to heal and comfort all who have been affected.

We pray for a ceasefire and for all peacemakers to work strenuously for an end to the war, particularly in the US and Israel, countries that are rooted in your love, mercy and grace.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We pray for Hong Kong

We pray for those who are underemployed, for single mothers caring for their families. We pray especially for those working in small retail shops and in restaurants as they need to learn new trades.

We continue to pray for those who have been jailed due to the social unrest of 2019. We pray for their wellbeing and for lawyers and resources to assist them in their appeal process.

We pray for wisdom and guidance as we continue to seek avenues to pursue peace and justice in our community.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We pray for our family at Kowloon Union Church

We commit into your loving hands, those who are unwell and facing health challenges in their life. Lord, we ask that they may know and feel your presence in their lives at this time. Comfort them , give them strength and heal their infirmities.

We give thanks to our Senior members who are with us. We thank them for their life of service,  a witness of your continued grace and love in their lives.

We remember especially Mrs. Samuel, who is celebrating her 90th birthday. Lord, you have given her a full and meaningful life. We pray that you will continue to bless her in the days ahead.

We also remember at this time, our previous Ministers, Rev Kwok, David Gill, Winston Baker and Clayborne Allen. We thank you for their dedication and service to the church in the past. We pray for their health and well-being.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

In the ecumenical cycle of prayers, we remember the people and churches of all faith in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We pray that the government, leaders and people would strive for justice, peace and well being of all.

Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

We pray all these in the name of our loving Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

Let us say the Lord's Prayer together. Please pray in the language most comfortable to you:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom , the power and the glory are yours,

Now and forever,

AMEN
